Stirling Armed Forces Day 2014

Stirling hosted Armed Forces Day on, Saturday June 28th 2014.
Armed Forces Day in Stirling was the sixth national event since 2009, and the second to be held in Scotland, after Armed Forces Day in Edinburgh in 2011.

The first UK Armed Forces Day (formerly Veterans' Day) took place on 27th June 2009 in Chatham Historic Dockyard – former Royal Navy base, part of veterans awareness week, starting on the Monday.
The date of 27th June was chosen as it came the day after the anniversary of the first investiture of the Victoria Cross, in Hyde Park, London in 1857. So far Armed Forces Day has been observed on the last Saturday of June. Saturday 26th June 2010 in Cardiff, Saturday 26th June 2011 in Edinburgh, Saturday 25th June 2012 in Plymouth, Saturday 29th June 2013 in Nottingham, Saturday June 28th 2014 in Stirling.
Saturday 27th of June 2015 in Guildford, Saturday 25th June 2016 in Cleethorpes in North East Lincolnshire, Saturday 24 June 2017 in Liverpool and Llandudno in Conwy on Saturday 30th June 2018. (Source: Gov.uk)

Armed Forces Day is a chance to show your support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets.
There are many ways for people, communities and organisations across the country to show their support and get involved, from attending an event or joining us online to throwing a party or local event.
